Passing through the archway of western clematis, a common native climbing plant of the Okanogan Highlands, you find yourself in the mural and face-to-face with a downright odd looking mountain. It’s not a twisty rock dreamed up by a creative artist, it’s an actual landscape feature of the Okanogan Highlands, and it’s name is…Corkscrew Mountain!

This mural was inspired by the children’s book, Grandfather Twilight, by Barbara Berger, and made possible by Andy Eccleshall’s talent for painting trompe d’oeil, achieving a realistic 3D effect.
